Social changes do not take place unless there is an urge within the society. sri Adichunchanagiri maha samsthana 110km west of Bangalore which has a history of 1500 years got it's present 71st peethadhipathi Jagadguru sri sri sri balagangadharanatha maha swamiji in the yera 1974, Ever-since His holiness took over the peetha, His main mission & vision have been to bring in a social change through spread of education. our leaders who used to trot the globe with begging bowls during 1950s for lone & to feed the poor indians are now in a comfortable position. Today india has a forex reserve of 1200 billion dollars & this reserve is mainly due to spread of Education. His holiness has been the pioneer in the spread of Education on a large scale, particularly in rural areas. Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana math has Ninteen branches spread over karnataka & sringeri branch has a key role to play in the field of education. under the able guidance & leadership of sri Gunanatha swamiji the following educational institutions have been catering to the needs of the needy. If chikmagalore is a land of coffee, sringeri is the land of ARECA & SPICES. river tunga flows by silently, hills, peaks(sringa), valleys & ever green rain forests surround this temple town. The seat of godess sharada & the ancient Adwaita peetha founded by Acharya shankara, Adichuncanagiri Mahasamsthana has founded a branch of it's samsthana. In order to awake spiritualism among est the needy & also help younger generation to get modern education, sringeri Branch started BGS B.Ed college in the year 2007.
